LO QUE EXTRAÑAS YA NO EXISTE
[I am grateful for all my friends - Rausess, Sheiler, Alex, Reinaldo, Emilio, Grey and others - for letting me interview them and for sharing their experience of immigration. I am taking my risk to take what resonates with my experience, so i can not only show their struggle but also observe my own feeling of being an imigrant]
Three years
in the emigration, which started as a journey and evolved into a semi-animate
state, a semi-adventure. I’m moving, I’m adapting, I’m absorbing the
environment. There are so many different countries behind, and each one needs
from me to adapt myself to a new ecosystem. Now it’s Peru, cold and wet winter Lima
with its unflappable clothes and its constant grey sky. I’ve grown tired of
complaining about my own - and so I’m learning from others: I see how the most
unwanted South American immigrants, the Venezuelans, are doing in this
environment. I was fortunate to meet some wonderful people from Venezuela, who
are surprisingly always optimistic.
